Dealmaker, was invited to participate in a live conversation with Luke Runyon, co-director of the

Water Desk at the University of Colorado Boulder's Center for Environmental Journalism.

He also happened to be our editorial advisor for this series.

Luke asks Emily about how she thought through the series,

which follows the ongoing epic negotiation

over the future of the Colorado River.

Hi everyone, my name is Luke Runyon and I'm the co-director of the Water Desk at the University of Colorado Boulder's Center for Environmental Journalism.

For those of you who don't know what the Water Desk is, we support and act as a resource for news organizations and journalists throughout the West to better cover water-related issues in our region.

And thank you for being here. We're calling this webinar a reporter's notebook,

the Making of the Gen Z water dealmaker, which is a podcast about the Colorado River negotiations.

This is the latest season of an ongoing show called Imperfect Paradise from LAS 89.3, which is the NPR Station for the Greater Los Angeles Area.

This series is a deeply reported narrative driven deep dive into the ongoing policy negotiations over the

Colorado River. It's got a bit of intrigue and some drama and a little bit of

gossip which is how you know it's a good show.
