facilities not intended to care for mentally ill patients. Many of these

patients are not actually elderly. I've had a patient as young as 19 years old, 22. For people

working in these nursing homes the conditions can feel dangerous. They ran

faster and moved better than I did.

Nursing homes have become de facto mental health facilities because there are just not enough places for people to go.
