You know, when Samuel, in fact, when it's turned to 1 Samuel 9, and we're just going to look at something we've talked about before, but I want to just kind of take a different direction tonight.

1:08.0

1 Samuel 9 is a story about Samuel when he anoints Saul as king, and the story begins in the 9th chapter 15 verse, what Saul has lost his donkeys, and Saul's father is a farmer, he's lost his donkeys, and he sends his son Saul out to find the donkeys, and they're looking, they're looking, they can't find the donkeys.

1:32.0

And finally, Saul's servant says to him, you know, when we go to this next city and see if maybe there's a prophet in that city, I've heard there's a prophet in that city, and maybe he knows where our donkeys are.

1:43.0

When it just be awesome if we get back to that core value, where we really believe two things, one, that God cared about donkeys, that he cared about the small things of our life, how many know that the Lord, the very hairs of your head are numbered, that God, you have a God who cares about the little details of your life.

2:01.0

When we were young, my faith in him now, I remember when we were young, when Kathy and I, before we got married, I'd say, you know, why don't we, she'd be going through a hard time or something, I'd say, why don't we pray for you, she'd say, no, I don't want to pray for me, because I don't want to bother God until I really need something big.

2:21.0

This is before we were saved. I'm like, I think that he has enough for us, when we have little things and we have big things, you know, no, no, I don't want to bother God with something small, like I can handle this, all wait till there's something big, then I'll use my, use up my, you know, my lotto ticket for that or whatever.

2:41.0

How many know that we often feel that way, we would never say that, but sometimes we feel like, well, you know what, if we take it off for this building, then it's going to affect the poor people, like God has limited resources, we can only do a little bit.

2:55.0

And how many know that God wants to break that poverty spirit off of us?

3:00.0

Anyway, so, but he says, so he says, why don't we go up to this next city? I think there's a profit there. And maybe he can tell us where our donkeys are.

3:10.0

And it wouldn't be awesome if we just got back to the place where people look to the people, people looked to God to discover little things like where are donkeys, where are lost children, who committed the crime, so on, so forth.

3:25.0

I just feel like God's bring us to this place where he's needing us into society. And, you know, like Samuel said, is there not a profit in Israel? And I want to see us just begin to move in the direction.

3:37.0

So anyway, they begin in verse 15. So Saul is is out looking for the profit, looking for his donkeys, finds this profit, verse 15.

3:48.0

Now, David four Saul's coming, the Lord revealed this to Samuel, saying about this time tomorrow, I'll send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you show anoint him to be print over my people Israel, and he will deliver my people from the hand of the Philistines, for I regard for my people because their cries come up to me.

4:05.0

Then when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him, behold the man whom I spoke, this is the one who will rule my people. Then Saul approached Samuel in the gate and said, tell me please where the Sears house is.

4:15.0

And Samuel answered, Saul said, I'm the Seer, go up before me to the high place and you shall eat with me today, and in the morning I will let you know, and I will tell you all that's in your mind. Say I'll tell you all that's in your mind.
