Just as a child will often mimic the characteristics of a parent, so God wants his children

to mimic the characteristics of our parent.

And of course, that's our Heavenly Father, God himself.

To put it another way, God wants to set the pattern for your life and mine.

One of the things today that is in great need is leadership.

People who will set the pace for which people can pattern themselves after.

God has set out the pattern that you and I are to emulate as beloved children.

Now he gives three ways in this chapter that we are to emulate, mimic, pattern,

or copy God. We are to walk in love, walk in light, and walk in wisdom. Those are the three

walks by which we mimic God. And walk in love.

Verse 2 says, just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice

to God as a fragrant aroma.
