Great to have you with us this morning. So despite all the sanctions and its war,

the International Monetary Fund, or the IMF for short, says it expects Russia's economy will grow faster than any other

advanced countries this year. The BBC's Nick Marsh is on this story and Nick just

explain to me how Russia, which is an economy that lots of other major economies are trying to avoid doing

business with, how it is expected to do so well.

Yeah, it's going to come as a bit of a surprise to a lot of people, isn't it?

Because the general story has been one of massive

challenges for the Russian economy the main reason is that although Western

economies are very powerful they're not the only economies in the world. There are plenty of other countries who are willing to buy Russian exports, especially oil.

And even though those sanctions are in place, there's lots of ways that exporters can get around them. I just do want to mention

a couple of pretty important caveats though. Firstly, we're talking about growth, not overall

health of the economy, and Russia is obviously coming from a pretty low base.

Secondly, Russia, the IMF says, will be the fastest growing economy in the West.

So not in the world. That doesn't include China China other Asian economies which are doing well

high interest rates you know the cost of living that many people are struggling with but
