Today's guest is my wonderful friend, Emel DeMay.

For those of you who are not familiar, Amel DeMay is a singer, a songwriter and a poet.

She is a national Irish treasure born and raised in Dublin. She started

singing as a teen and was discovered by Jules Holland. She since released five albums, sold

out tours around the world and has performed for royalty presidents at the Grammys with Jeff Beck

and with other legendary artists like Lou Reed, Bono, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Robert Plant and

that list goes on and on. Her last album, Life Love, Flesh Blood, was the most personal

and honest album she's ever written and was the fifth best-selling female album globally

in 2017. And she's got new music coming soon. Her new album 11 past the hour will be out in April.

I am also in love with Amelda's poetry. I share it sometimes on Instagram. I listen to it when I need a pick me up or when I feel deeply homesick.

I think it's her voice. It's like a balm to my wounded soul.
