0:00.0	Welcome to the 1000 Hours Outside Podcast. My name is Ginny Eurech. I'm the founder of 1,000 hours outside and I'm so excited. I have a dear friend on with me today. Suzanne Nun. welcome. Thank you. Thank you I'm so excited. This is going to be a good one because
0:18.7	Suzanne lives in Florida. Have you always lived in Florida? I was not a natural born Floridian, no, but I have lived here most of my life.
0:27.0	And we know each other through homeschool conventions.
0:31.0	We've known each other now for several years and
0:33.6	Suzanne runs the largest homeschool convention in the country and
0:38.3	subsequently I think the world. It happened in Orlando, Florida every Memorial Day weekend. They're
0:45.2	heading into their 40th anniversary that's next year through the organization
0:49.8	FPEA. So Suzanne give us a little background about FPE a and yourself and what you do there.
0:56.9	Sure well like you said FPA is going into our 40th year next year serving homeschool families in Florida and we actually
1:06.0	began right before it was even legal to homeschool in the state of Florida. So
1:11.7	FPA has had a history of always supporting legislative
1:17.4	efforts, legally protecting homeschooling in the state of Florida. So that's been
1:21.5	huge for us over the years and at the same time, you know, way back then there was no, so no social media, no anything for people to really connect.
1:34.2	They used phone trees to connect the families
1:38.1	across the state of Florida
1:40.0	and to develop a support group essentially for the state.
1:45.0	And so over the years we just involved and developed into a huge state organization that was a support system providing resources and events.
1:59.2	And for many years, like our signature event was our convention that you mentioned and then I don't know
2:08.0	maybe in the past 15 years we began to add more events along the way. So we have a special needs conference, we have
2:15.3	STEM conferences, we have all kinds of interesting things that we do. Our goal is to walk alongside families who are homeschooling and who need resources to support them,
2:30.0	just to encourage them and to provide them with a community of people who
2:36.2	understands who they are and what they're doing, how they're living their life,
