It is a horrible day because what a way to start the new year.

Congress is coming back to town today.

And, you know, I think it just proves that things could be worse than we thought,

despite our hopes that 2017 would be better and not as bad as we thought.

No, with Congress here, and I'll tell you why, because they are coming to town,

not just coming back to town, they are coming to town with an agenda.

For the last two years, the way Congress worked was they got nothing done.

Whether they were home or here, it really didn't make any difference because, and we heard Republican members of Congress complain about

this as well as Democratic members of Congress because they've got nothing done.

Passed very few bills except for renaming post offices.

But this time it is different.

They have a very, in fact, it reminds us of across the street from our studios on the hill.

There was a junior high school about a year and a half ago called Heinz Junior High.

And it had closed down, been shut for a couple of years.

So the city approved a whole new project for this block across the street from us.

Huge project with residential apartments, condominiums, you know, the drill, big office building, retail stores, a new Trader Joe's,

all that kind of stuff.

But first, they had to get rid of the high school.

And they didn't dynamite it. They just brought in these big cranes, these big, big pieces of equipment. And it was so much fun to watch them, just knock them down, knock the walls down.
