Summary

Cardy, Joe, and Dale are here as The Firm reunites to take part in the 2013 Build-a-Game Workshop in which they battle it out to create the best game they can from all that were released that year. Before that, though there are thoughts on the new Fantastic Beasts film as well as Robert Eggers' Norse revenge drama, The Northman. After all of that, the table is set for a waffle party as Severance spoilers are discussed now that season one has come to a close. Want to get in touch to talk about game mechanics you completely missed? Or maybe about chocolate? Feel free to send us an email at [email protected].

Hello and welcome to the IGN UK podcast. It's the firm. We're back together. Me, Simon

0:15.0

Cardi, Dale Driver. Hello. Joe Scribbles. Hello. I've been a long time since we've

0:21.8

done one together. I think so too. Yeah, probably. Yeah, do you remember when it was just

0:26.8

forever? Yeah, people must have been bored of that. It was like three months, whereas just

0:32.6

us. How did we even get through that? What did we even talk about? We did do a lot of

0:39.4

full manager. Thankfully, you can hear that we sound a lot better today, which is good because

0:45.8

last week must have been horrible to us in two. And again, I apologize. This week, I'm excited

0:53.1

because we're doing another one of our build-a-game workshops because A, there's not a lot to talk

0:58.6

about this week and B, I just think they're very fun and I want to do them. So we're going to be

1:03.2

doing that and it's a twist this time. It's tied to a specific year. But we'll get on to that

1:08.2

in a bit because first we've got a couple of films to talk about that we've seen. First up,

1:12.3

Joe, you've been seeing some beasts. Yes, fantastic beasts, three, the secrets of Dumbly

1:20.8

Door. Is it the third one of these? Yeah, baby. I thought there'd been two. No. What I'll say is

1:28.8

it's not as bad as the last one. That's my reading of the last one. Oh my God. So I hadn't seen two

1:37.2

before this. But I knew I was seeing this the third one, so I thought, okay, I'll catch up. And I

1:45.0

didn't mind the first one too much. I thought it was kind of, it was kind of throw away fun. The

1:50.7

second one is like one of the most incoherently written blockbuster movies I've seen for a very

1:56.4

long time. Like a lot of things in that appear to make absolutely no sense. And it's one of those

2:02.1

ones where you're like, have I, did I fall asleep during a bit of this and miss some like crucial

2:07.6

expedition? And I will say that secrets of Dumbly Door does not have this issue. It is quite

2:12.6

straightforward. But it's also really boring quite a lot of the time. Really, what I don't

2:22.0

understand about these films is fantastic based somewhere to find them. Is a book in the Harry Potter
