last week on this podcast we discussed the game of conquers and also said that conquers

which are apparently a type of chestnut were sold as edible items on London Bridge.

I've since been told by about 30 to 40,000 listeners that conquers are in fact poisonous.

Now I don't think I actually said go and eat conquers. I just thought they were edible.

I don't even like chestnuts but this is a warning. Don't eat conquers. Leave the conquers

alone just hit people with them, alright? They're poisonous.

People's lives are at stake for Christ's sakes. Yeah it's because I had some pretty severe

conquer poisoning after I went out and gathered up a bunch of conquers. I brewed them up.

I made a conquer team. It's like phantom thread in my house except I'm playing both parts.

I haven't listened back to last week's episode just out of shame but I don't think

we actually told anyone to eat conquers. I think we're safe there. I think we just said

we thought conquers were edible. We say we. Yeah we say we. You said you think they're

the chestnuts on the bridge and I hesitantly agreed with you. That's because I didn't

so exactly. We said. Guilty by association. Exactly. I'll get the longer presence

but you definitely will get a presence. Matt's not here for speak to speak for himself so

let's just all pin it on him. White they are quite different in terms of how they look.

Obviously they're brown but the ones that you roast have got like little pointy ends.

You know what they should give them you should give poisonous things poisonous names like horse

chestnuts that doesn't sound you know call it nasty nuts exactly like if it's if horse chestnuts
