Summary

From the series "Gospel of Matthew." What do we do when other followers of Jesus fall into sin and wander away? Let them go? Act like it’s okay? Make them our enemy? In this teaching we explore Jesus’ practice for dealing with sin in the church. It’s one of Jesus’ most used and abused teachings, and yet, it has the potential to form the church into a community where God’s will is done.

0:27.6	See that you do not despise one of these little ones.
0:32.0	For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

0:39.3	If a man owns a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the 99 on the
0:44.5	hills and go and look for the one that wandered off?
0:47.5	And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the

0:55.0	In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones

1:02.4	If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault just between the two of you.
1:08.5	If they listen to you, you have won them over.
1:11.1	But if they will not listen, take one or two others along so that every matter may be
1:15.4	established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
1:18.9	If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church.
1:22.5	And if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would have pagan or
1:27.9	tax collector.
