| 0:50.4 | Why is it so hard for us to just do something that we know we should be doing or want to be doing to better our lives? |
| 0:57.0 | And one of the most interesting things that kind of shape our actions is this principle that's known as the commitment and consistency principle. |

| 1:09.0 | whether that is a belief, whether that's a behavior, whether that is a decision, we have a strong psychological urge |
| 1:16.9 | to remain consistent with that commitment. And this consistency isn't just like an external habit. |

| 1:27.5 | It's an internal feeling that we have inside of us as well. |

| 1:36.9 | beliefs and what they think things should be or will be. And any deviation from that means that we're not in alignment with what I think of myself and it causes this thing that's mental this mental |
