About Hidden True Crime:

Lauren Matthias was a television reporter for a decade and she and her husband, Dr. John Matthias, a forensic criminal psychologist, started Hidden True Crime in 2020 with their Season, 'Beyond the Veil,' a psychological deep dive into the doomsday murders of Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow.

What started as a simple conversation at their dinner table became a captivating podcast. Join the dynamic duo of Dr. John Matthias, a forensic criminal psychologist, and Lauren Matthias, an investigative journalist, as they delve into the psychological facets of unthinkable crimes every week. Their unique perspectives and in-depth analysis offer a fresh take on true crime storytelling.

bend in the river surrounded by levies and cornfields, which makes this look

1:25.5

like a great spot for the kayakers to camp for the night.

1:29.4

And it was a great spot for a while.

1:31.5

However, while the two kayakers were canvassing the area and beginning to set

up camp for the night, they noticed something near piles of driftwood, a blue barrel. They thought
