Hey there, I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast. We hope so much we can serve you today.

When I studied the life of David, I went more from the point that he enters into the scriptures of 1 Samuel chapter, more into chapter 13

and on to 16 than in this particular portion. So I was not quite ready when I began studying

this chapter for the Sunday school lesson to see how much it has to say about complete

deliverance this morning to us. I want to read all the way through the chapter

and then we'll pick up and start taking it apart somewhat. In verse one, you'll notice, especially

if you were in our lesson last week, you'll see where we are on the status of the ark among

the people of Israel. So the men of Carriath Jerram came and took up the ark of the Lord. They took it to Abedadab's house on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the Lord. Verse 2. It was a long time. Everybody say it was a long time. It was a long time. I wonder if anybody in here without me even giving you any kind of clue what I mean could just sit there today and say,

it's been a long time. What would that phrase even mean to you this morning? It's been a long time.

Somebody might say this morning, it has been too long. If you can put that into any context in your life this morning, you have come to the right

class. Whatever it's been too long about, you have come to the right place this morning. It was a long

time, 20 years and all that the ark remained at Carrius Jerram. And all the people of Israel mourned and sought

after the Lord. And Samuel said to the whole house of Israel, if you are returning to the Lord with all

your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the asteris and commit yourselves to the

Lord and serve him only. And he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. So the

Israelites put away their bales and asteris and serve the Lord only. Then Samuel said,

Asimble all Israel at Mispah and I will intercede with the Lord for you. When they

assemble at Mispah, they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. Now I'm going to ask you as I read these passages

to you, read them with the eyes of your mind as well as with your physical eyes. I want you to

picture what's happening here. So they're pouring water that they've drawn out, pouring it out of

the out of the well of the water, deeply drawing the water, pouring it out before God. And on that day,

they fasted. And there they confessed, we have sinned against the Lord. And Samuel was leader of Israel
