Summary

Today’s episode begins with Rachel talking a little bit about their family vacation to Tenerife. It was a nourishing time spent doing nothing but reading and lounging on the beach. And sometimes that is exactly what you need in a vacation. As Rachel goes down memory lane, she starts telling the story of how she fell in love with her husband 15 years ago in Aruba. Their origin story is one for the books! It has it all, from chance encounters to moving abroad on a whim. And here they are all these years later, still more in love than ever. Tune in for an episode that will make you believe in fate, fighting for what you love, and the beauty of coming out on the other side. I am talking to you today a little bit tan, actually, which is very surprising. We just came home late,

0:53.5

late, late last night from a week in Tenerife, which has been

also was so incredibly beautiful, so much snow. And then it got

1:31.2

like a little bit difficult the next winter. You know, it just like kind of it started to feel like

1:36.9

a little bit of a drag. For me, I struggle with March. It's like winter has been ongoing now for

so long. Can it just be over like that forever waiting for spring? Like I really struggle with that. And Dennis really struggles with November, where we are right now, where we haven't hit Christmas season. It's not snowing yet. It's not cold enough to actually feel like a winter. And it's also not bright enough. Like in the

2:02.5

wintertime when it starts to snow, it brightens everything up. November, it's just getting

2:07.5

darker and darker. And it's also really wet and muddy. And yeah, I get that he that he kind

2:13.5

of struggles with this month a lot too. But last winter was the first winter for us living in

2:20.0

Sweden where we decided, okay, we need to travel more. We need to go places. We need to do something

2:27.3

in the wintertime to kind of like stretch the ability to have a bit of sunshine on our skin and some daylight. And yeah, so we decided right
