As I read through Romans 12, I can't help but think if only Christians would actually act this way.

I can't help but think that. But the truth is, as I reflect on it, I go,

I do know plenty of Christians who do act this way. The real question is, am I

acting this way?

So we're going to continue talking about what real Christian character looks like as we go through

Romans 12.

And there's just to recap, there's 27 character traits in Romans 12 all the way through

the end of the chapter that we've been addressing.

We looked at the first eight last week, this time it's like nine all the way through 27.

We're going to hammer boom boom boom boom boom just shoot through a bunch of character

traits that Christians should try to have and obey God in.

These are things God's telling us to do.

And in particular, a lot of the stuff we're dealing with tonight will deal with hardship

We'll deal with how we respond to difficulty and pain and I'll tell you what nothing shows your true character like pain and suffering and hurt and hard times and difficult seasons of life.

Everybody has great character when they're happy.

And so it's Christian character that's revealed through the trial because the testing of your faith.

You know, it's like this fire, it's like this trial that reveals what's inside and purifies. We come out of the trial not only knowing what's

really going on our hearts but we come out more purified than we were when we went in.

So let's just dig right in. Starting in verse 12, we have character trait number nine in our list continuing

from last week.

Rejoicing in Hope, and it goes on, number 10 and 11 11 of their patient in tribulation continuing
