I swear it's true. The calendar will change but there's still a little bit of business

left in Washington. As government funding and COVID really feels seem to finally be making

their way through Congress. But there are still some big questions we're going to have

to resolve in the new year and of course I'm not just talking about the logistics of

vaccine distribution. The electoral college vote on Monday was obvious is now official.

President Trump's time in the White House is coming to an end. But here's my question.

Is the Trump era coming to an end and if so, is the Republican Party realized it yet?

Will Trumpism vanish in a whisper or will the Trump Republican Party stay with us for

a while joining me today? A little bit of a congressional feel to our coverage. Carl

So let's get the quick stuff out of the way. Leanne and Carl and Leanne I'll start with

you. You're in the middle of seeing this deal come together. It is finally happening.

It looks like direct checks. No state and local relief. So what's what about this deal

will resolve some things and what does this deal leave unresolved for the next Congress?

Hey, Chek, so this deal is what I'm told is a down payment to get the country into the

Biden administration or even hearing from majority leader McConnell that he expects

there to be another package, another piece of legislation in the New Year. And so this

is immediate relief. You know, it's been months. It was the end of March. And so last time

they passed any sort of relief. And so this is an attempt to avoid a major cliff that

is upon us where people are losing unemployment insurance. People could get kicked out of
