Summary

Join us this week for a podcast concert of prayer on behalf of persecuted Christians around the world in commemoration of the International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians (IDOP).

Leaders from among VOM's international ministry regions will talk about specific prayer needs in their region of the world, then lead in prayer for persecuted brothers and sisters in those regions. Author John Weaver will lead a special time of prayer for Afghanistan and Christians there in light of the upheaval and transition that took place in that nation this year. Former prisoner for Christ Petr Jasek will lead in prayer specifically for Sudan in light of the recent coup.

something very powerful happens when we, as the body of Christ, unite our hearts together and

pray for persecuted believers around the world. Lord, would you be a husband to the

husbandless? Would you be a father to the fatherless? May they know they are not alone in their trials,

but have a God that knows their suffering and a church family around the world that is praying for

them. Surround them with your presence, Lord. I ask you to bless them with the items they need

to live daily. We pray even in the midst of what looks like evil, you would turn it and use it

for good to advance your kingdom. Father, we pray this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ.

apostles, and they're still coming true today in the lives of his followers around the world.

is encouraging churches everywhere to remember this Sunday, the International Day of Prayer for

1:22.5

Persecuted Christians. Our hope is that every church is going to pray for the persecuted members

1:30.4

of our spiritual family. We do this first because Scripture tells us, too. Hebrews 13.3 says,

1:37.3

remember those in prison as if you were in prison with them. If we were the ones in prison,

1:44.2

we would certainly want to know that people were praying for us. We also do it because when we go

1:50.3

and talk with persecuted Christians, it's the first thing they ask us to do. Pray for us.

1:57.4

Pray for us. Pray for us. So that's what we're going to do this week here on The Voice of the
