Matt Tardio. Fighting is intensified over inside of the Gaza Strip. We have a very key city that is now

being reported as surrounded by the IDF, and the IDF ended up taking its first casualty of

operations Gideon's Chilliarder, as far as I can tell anyways, it would certainly appear that

way. The IDF ended up making their announcement today. As we're waiting on people to roll in here this morning,

I'm going to go ahead and play this news interview for you from a colonel in the IDF.

He's an IDF spokesperson over from I-24 News.

Don't change our goals.

Number one, dismantle Hamas terrorist capabilities and to make all the hostages back to Israel.

These two goals are there.

We are here in a new phase of the situation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Since the 7th of October, 23, were in war against Hamas.

Hamas is still holding 508, sorry, hostages in the tunnels and dungeons of Gaza.

And for now, in spite of talks that you talked about just before, nothing is moving on.

And we say it very clearly.

If Hamas is laying down the weapons and is releasing, relieving the hostages, war is over.

For now, we have to continue to make the hostages back to Israel and dismantling Hamas terrorist capabilities.

The only one that we are giving to the population, it is very important for us to warn the population to move from one point to another point, in order to prevent them to be in the middle of the combat area.

It is a key point, and we are continuing to do so in order again, I repeat, to prevent

civilians from Gaza to be involved in the combat areas.

And of course, Olivier, much concern about how this military pressure could potentially impact

the safety of the hostages still being held in captivity
