What is humility? I think the very word and the subject of humility is not very familiar to our generation.

It really isn't. The last time I checked, I could not find a single bestseller among the books on the subject of humility, not one.

Humility is not the hottest subject that is used by these motivational preachers and self-help preachers.

And it appears to me, at least, that today we are going back to the days of the Greek culture before Christ,

where they not only had no word for humility, let alone

practice it.

In fact, I read recently about this young man who was college graduate, and when he graduated

from college, he went to work for his dad's store.

On the first day on the job, his dad said, son, sweep the floor.

And the young man said, Dad, I'm a college graduate.

And the father said, I'm sorry, son, I forgot.

But don't worry, I'll teach you how.

I know you hear people joke about how they're proud they are of their humility and all this

stuff, but the truth is, we have so many conflicting understanding and even use of the word today

that so much so that the average person has no idea what it really means, let alone practice it.

And I'm talking about folks in the churches.

Here's a rule of thumb.

If a person think that he or she is humble, they're not.

Do you get that?
