Well, thanks for joining us on the Strong Women podcast today.

Erin and I are sitting down after our conversation with Carl Truman, and we're going to do our best to reflect without going on and on for hours and hours.

I was thinking about this today on the drive home thinking Carl's book is up there for me, like one of the most

influential books. And I think it will stay that way for a long time. Because it's one of

those books that connected dots for me. I guess I should name the book too, just in case

you're just joining us. It's Strange New World, How Thinkers and Activist Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution.

Now, let me explain just a little bit about this book.

So you may have heard of his other book, The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self, which is pretty academic. It's a little bit thicker. And Ryan Anderson told Carl,

hey, like this book is so great, the rise and triumph of the modern self. Could you possibly

write it a little bit more readable so that I can hand it out to staff members.

And so that's what Carl did. He took it. And I would say that it's just more readable.

It's still something you need to be awake for. Like, it's not your before bedtime book, right?

But, I mean, he connects the dots going back through the philosophers who started to shift

our thinking, ending us with the thoughts and the actions that we have today in our cultural

moment. So now you need to go back and listen to the episode. I'm trying to like give you a summary

to catch you up in case you haven't. I agree and I've been telling everyone that I meet up with

or have seen since I finished the book. Oh, you guys, you have to get this new book that I just read. Like today, I met a friend

for lunch and I was telling her about it. We were talking about our older kids and, you know,

life with them and they're on their own and making decisions. And we start talking about culture.

And I'm like, oh, you have to read this book.
