I'm your host, retired NYPD Sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

You know, as the case against all Brian Kovberger, the case is over, but more information comes out.

And we're looking at a thumbnail here on the screen of the police interview with a Captain

Baker from the Moscow Police Department in regards to an police interview with Bethany Funk,

approximately 10 hours after the murders occurred.

So the interview has really just been released.

Whitney Funk was one of the two surviving roommates after Brian Koeberger killed Madison

Mogan, Kaylee Gonzalez, Zana Kanooga, and Ethan Chapin on november 13th 2022 less than 10 hours after the murders

funk was interviewed for 28 minutes by sergeant dustin baker of the moscow police department

in idaho funk described in detail what she remembered from the hours before the killings

all koeberger was in the house and the aftermath.

Funk said she woke up to what she thought was a firework under her door and heard Gonzalva's dog barking,

but presumed it was someone making food.

Roommate Dylan Mortensen called Funk around 4.30 a.m. saying she thought she heard someone.

The two then locked the door and stayed in Funk's room. I didn't know really what to think of it

because sometimes we think we hear things a lot in the house,

but it's usually just Ethan walking around. I didn't hear screams. I didn't hear anything.

I didn't really know. Funk added. The pair slept together in Funk's room before realizing several hours later that their friends had been killed. Just an absolutely horrific story, you know.

And the interview by the captain, to me, it seems a little bit short,

28 minutes.
