a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

Tonight I'll be flying solo.

There's a lot of information on this case, a lot of new information, a lot of questions.

You know, when homicide investigation frequently people say, oh, that couldn't happen or this

couldn't happen. Sometimes the stranger it is and the freaker it is, you know, the old

expression, truth is stranger than fiction. And that happens a great deal of the time

in homicide investigation. And we'll try to make sense out of some of the things that seemingly

make no sense, how the slaughter of four college kids the age of 20 to 21 years old,

how does that make any sense at all to us?

The only thing you can think of is prayers for the families,

prayers for the deceased,

and it's inexplicable.

You can't explain something like this.

These are some of the things in life that we totally can't explain.

We do not have a suspect the police say after the Idaho killings. After four college students

were stabbed to death, the police sought to downplay any wider danger, but with no suspect,

they're not so sure.
