0:44.4

Ida Lewis, the lighthouse keeper.

0:48.2

I was so excited when I saw Emily's request for this story. Because the story of Ida Lewis's life is just,

So her parents had three other children after she was born.

2:32.2

Ida's father was Captain Josea Lewis, and he was a coast pilot.

2:39.0

This was before the United States had a coast guard.

2:42.2

So Ida's father was in the organization that is kind of considered the forerunner of the coast guard.

2:51.8
