Hi, it's Susan, and this is not Mary Church, Terrell Part II. This is Ida B. Wells-Barnett.

0:13.0

We had this conversation back in 2012. Ida was a contemporary of Mary's. Their lives crossed past several times, and their goals were the same.

0:22.0

They were both trying to end lynching. They were both civil rights activists. They were both women's rights activists.

0:28.0

The goals we have been the same, but their backgrounds and their life paths were extremely different.

So you're asking, when is Mary Church, Terrell Part II coming?

0:44.0

0:55.0

We've recorded it after everybody's in bed. We've recorded in bits and pieces when our tea jobs and our family obligations didn't give us a four to five hour chunk of time that we need to have our conversations.

1:28.0

And we both lost parents during the course of the show, but we always figured out a way to make the time to record the episodes, get them out on a schedule, and keep our own personal stories in the background so that we can shine a spotlight on the stories of our subjects.

1:44.0

So we have to tell you, Mary Church Terrell is going to be a little late. It won't be another two weeks until our next regularly scheduled episode will get her up as soon as we possibly can.

1:55.0

This is going to sound very doggy at my homework, ish, but Beckett's day job had taken her away during the time that we were going to record when we did manage to carve out a little bit.

2:05.0

Our Kansas City chiefs were in the Super Bowl, and that was enough to send our schedules completely out of whack. While our chiefs were victorious, that screws up our entire week in ways that I just don't even want to go into right now.

2:19.0

But we will get Mary Church Terrell up as quickly as we possibly can. Thank you so much for understanding on with the show.

2:29.0

One quick warning, this episode contains some topics which may not be suitable for our younger listeners. An on with the show.

And here's your 30-second summary.
