I had the pleasure of touring with Gary Puckett for a number of years and it was great to re-connect with him again - Just like old times. As you'll hear we covered a lot of ground in the hour that we spent chatting. I hope you enjoy this podcast as much as I did in making it. Below is a summary of the fantastic achievements that Gary has attained thus far in his impressive musical career. GARY PUCKETT and the UNION GAP was one of the most successful musical groups of the sixties. Gary's unmistakable signature voice garnered six consecutive gold records and top ten Billboard hits with the following titles: "YOUNG GIRL" • "WOMAN WOMAN" • "LADY WILLPOWER" • "OVER YOU" • "THIS GIRL IS A WOMAN NOW" "KEEP THE CUSTOMER SATISFIED" • "DON'T GIVE IN TO HIM" • "HOME" GARY PUCKETT has performed on more than thirty network television shows and prime time specials during his career, even adding a command performance for the President and Prince Charles at the White House. The Union Gap disbanded in the seventies. In 1974, "Young Girl" was reissued in England where it received a silver record award for attaining a top-five position on the pop charts, several years after its initial release. Gary continues to tour nationally & internationally, has a new album out now, "GARY PUCKETT - LIVE" Gary currently resides in Clearwater, FL with his wife and family.

0:37.8	Yeah, I contracted some orange for you and then we were chatting and I ended up playing
0:44.8	with you for I guess what, over three years or about two years and I went to Cirque du Soleil.
0:50.0	But so you, you're actually, you're down in Florida now, right?
0:54.0	Clear water, Florida, yes indeed. We love it down here, kind of wanted to escape California
0:58.9	in its politics. Yeah, that's crazy.
1:03.2	Where are you from originally?
1:05.0	Born in Minnesota, a little town called Hibbing. Yeah, I was born in 1942 that tells me my
1:12.7	age, my dad went off to fight in World War II and my grandparents came and got my mom
1:19.8	and I and we went to live with them in a little town called Pelican Rapids which was basically
1:27.3	what's the guy's name that was on the look Norman Rockwell's America, you know, a little
1:34.7	bitty town that had one stoplight if that, you know, in the corner drug store and that
1:40.9	sort of thing and it was kind of the middle American sort of very relaxed way of life.
1:48.4	But you know, when my dad came back from the war and we moved to Watertown, South Dakota
1:54.4	for I guess about two years and then out to Washington State where I really had my
1:59.2	formative years, Yakima Valley.
