And I mean, I don't think I need to apologise for directing your attention straight back to the United States of America about which we've taught almost exclusively so far this year but the shooting of completely unarmed and innocent woman in in Minneapolis is one of those moments I given that someone's dead, you hesitate to draw parallels

with events that didn't involve fatalities, but not unlike the humiliation of Lodomézolensky

in the Oval Office. It's one of those moments where you realize just how violent the change

to the natural order of things,

or at least the established traditional order of things, has become. Not because somebody has

been shot by an enforcement agent, an ICE agent in this case, apparently and almost inarguably

in cold blood, but because of the response,

there are cases in all countries of armed law enforcement officers discharging their firearms,

killing people, extrajudicially or illegally. You'll be familiar with cases of that from this

country, although thankfully,

given that armed officers are not routinely deployed on the streets of our towns and cities,

we hardly ever deal with it. But you know it can happen. It's the response, and it's the fear of the response, or rather it's the knowledge. It's the grim inevitability of the response
