I'm We are joined today again by a good friend and comrade of mine, colleague, I guess, as what we would call ourselves.

Alex Avina, who is at the American, I was going to say the American Studies Association,

Arizona State University, where he's in history.

How is the field of history these days in times of genocide and war?

It's not good, Nick. Not good.

I wish I was in American studies.

But yeah, things are not going well.

We can talk about that if you want.

There's stuff that's been happening, the American Historical Association.

And I'm actually just ran for a position.

So working with people like organizations like historians for Palestine.

But oh, so at the AHA, right? The American history. Yeah. Yeah. The main, yeah, the main

professional organization for historians, mostly within the U.S., but also outside of. We just had an

election that voting closed on the 15th, so a couple days ago.

And there was a slate, several organizations like historians for peace and democracy or democracy,

I always mess up these names, but historians for Palestine, several organizations put together

a slate of candidates. And I was put on one of the nomination council positions.

So we'll see, I don't know when we find out what the electoral results.

But we had pretty much candidates from president all the way down to nominating council

because of the shady shenanigans that the HAA leadership has pulled on on historians who want action on Palestine over the last couple years.

So we'll see what happens.
