Thank you for tuning in to the very first Twilight History Show.

If you're new to the Twilight Histories, let me explain what you're about to hear. It's a little

different than anything you've probably heard before. This is a fiction podcast, with stories

dramatized with music and sound effects to heighten the experience.

The idea is that you are a time traveler sent to alternate worlds in the multiverse.

Some are familiar, others totally exotic.

You'll meet Aztecs armed with steel and explore a steamed-powered Rome.

You'll wander the swamps of Venus with dinosaurs and try to escape a death cult in a Carthaginian

colony on Mars. That's right. You are the hero in these stories. You are the main character.

And in case that sounds a bit weird,

it's actually more common than you might think. When you're playing a video game, you often

play from the point of view of the main character. And if you've ever played D&D or read

game books like fighting fantasy or choose your own adventure, you can imagine these shows as

story versions of campaigns.
