Summary

Winning consistently at North Carolina has proved a challenge for Hubert Davis. Now in his fifth season, Davis has a team that fits his brand of basketball and his talented roster, led by veteran Seth Trimble, transfer Henri Veesaar and freshman stud Caleb Wilson, sits at 12-1 heading into ACC play. Davis's team has been solid and has yet to reach its full potential. Inside Carolina's Greg Barnes and Tommy Ashley discuss the job Davis has done in the 2025-26 so far. **Call to Action:**   **Subscribe:** Follow 'Inside Carolina' wherever you get your podcasts to never miss an episode!   **Review:** Leave us a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify to help us reach more Tar Heel fans!   **Visit:** Explore http://www.InsideCarolina.com for breaking news, recruiting updates, and expert commentary on all things UNC sports. One thing we didn't really talk about,

0:22.1

maybe enough is Hubert Davis' role this year on this team.

0:26.0

I think Hubert deserves a lot of credit for having his team 12 and 1,

0:30.0

having his team performing up to a level,

0:33.3

and having missed or been without your leading guy, your senior, your senior veteran leadership. I mean, it's unheard of to have to lose a player like that. And yet Carolina stands at 12 and 1, going into the Christmas break. Greg, your thoughts on Hubert's job this year. I think he's been fantastic. I agree. I think he's done a phenomenal job. And it's one of those

0:56.1

things you, I don't know if you want to call it fortune because you never like to see a key

1:01.7

player get injured the way that Seth Trimble did. But with the schedule set up the way that it

1:07.3

has been, where you've really got four quality opponents and then the rest

1:11.8

are not at that level.

1:14.7

With Seth going out, it really provided the opportunity for some of these other guys in the

1:19.5

back court to get some key minutes.

1:22.4

And I think that's been very important.

1:25.4

It's been very helpful, beneficial.

1:27.6

And we'll continue to see those minutes be beneficial as we get into ACC play now that they've been able to get their feet wet playing together now that Seth Trimble is back.

1:40.0

So that part of it certainly has been helpful.

1:42.1

But even before that, look, I mean, we knew coming

1:44.6

out of last year that there was a lot of, a lot of pressure on Hubert to deliver this year.
