Summary

Ibn Battuta heads to India - the long way. This time he travels north to Anatolia (modern-day Turkey), and then ventures into the realm of the Golden Horde - aka the Kipchak Khanate. We can also throw in a side excursion to Constantinople before Ibn Battuta crosses the western Himalayan Mountains and enters the Sultanate of Delhi. 0:35.0	We start in the year 1330 or 1332, we don't know for sure.
0:40.0	Also, at the same time, we are going to find some odd and at times incomprehensible movements of our explorer.
0:46.0	This is all OK. We don't know exactly why some of these things happen,
0:51.0	but it could be explained by lapses in Ibn Batudai's memory or errors by Ibn Giusei,
0:55.0	described writing down Ibn Batudai's story.
0:58.0	Again, this is fine. Things like this happen with documents written 700 years ago.
1:03.0	I'll note these oddities along the way,
1:05.0	but in the end, it really doesn't affect the main narrative of our tale.
1:09.0	OK, that is it for notes.
1:11.0	Let us go to Mecca in the fall of 1330 or 1332.
1:15.0	Ibn Batudai had completed his third Hajj.
1:18.0	He was in his late 20s, no longer an inexperienced kid,
1:21.0	and he wasn't interested in heading home to Morocco.
1:24.0	The wanderlust we spoke of in the last episode had not yet released its grip on the man.
1:29.0	He was ready to go exploring again.
1:31.0	But where to now?
