Let's talk about anemia and transfusion goals in critical care. I think this

is super confusing because I've got tricks, tricop, tris, Ironman, Titer, Able, all these things in

my mind, I don't know what to do, Josh. So hopefully you can give me a clear path in my clinical

practice. So what do you want to cover today?

So I guess we'll start with the approach to dropping hemoglobin and the nemia and the ICU.

Then we'll move on.

All right, let's start off with that approach.

So I cracked my Harrison's book. I got my algorithm that I'm

taught. It's all about the CBC Rit account and then I talk about the index, right? That's going to

really help me with a patient that's anemic. So I did this for years. I would follow this algorithm

and I would check iron levels and folate levels and it was always a waste of time. I've probably wasted like

thousands of dollars worth of labs on this. Your med micro people just love you, right? Yeah.

Yeah. So how do we break this down? You've got it in the post. Really, we're just going to look
