You remember 1999, Brittany Spears hit, Baby One More Time, was topping the charts,

and more importantly, the world was prepping for the Y2K bug that millennial theorists were convinced

would bring the world to its knees. And while many people were out

prepping for the click over of the clock when the world's power and

communications would grind to a halt, by stocking their fallout shelters and

getting their bug out kits ready, in coats of Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire in the UK was getting ready to leave on a four-month

journey to Africa.

That four-month journey would change his life and he would never return to the old life. That day when Ian drove away from his home,

his wife Judith stood waving at his back as he bumped his way down the lane. She had no way of knowing

that Ian would not return home for another 14 years.
