In the hullabaloo of Thanksgiving, I failed to upload a recast that week, so I have retroactively

remedied that with this classic episode about Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You,

which doubles as a love letter to Parton herself.

The fun fact that I always

drop about this song, whenever I'm talking to people about it, actually usually over the holidays,

is that it was a number one hit in three separate decades, which makes it one of the only

songs, if not the only song, to ever manage that. For my music recommendation, this recast,

I will pair a musician similar in style

to Dali Parton, songwriter in mandolin virtuoso Sierra Hull, who I have been listening to quite a bit lately.

This is stranded, the opening track off her 2016 album, Waded Mind, and it is just lovely.

Dee. I'm a faded mind, and it is just lovely. Dear 22... I own a mandolin, but while I have technically played it, I wouldn't say that I can play it.

But man, it's fun to listen to someone this good.

This song actually leads seamlessly into the second song on the album.

This whole album is really quite an experience,

so I recommend checking it out.
