Recently I've been trying to go through my sentimental stuff and I'm having a problem where I actually feel like not much of it is worth keeping at all.

Like the objects that I have are maybe a little dingy or growth. That makes me like really sad to have nothing.

And I also kind of feel guilty or ashamed that maybe I should have great stuff,

great sentimental stuff from my childhood. I live in a busy neighborhood and I started garage

sailing items worth value and now any small item I'm willing to be without, I struggle to throw it

away and I think I can just add it to the garage sale.

I don't want to be doing sales every weekend until it's all gone, but I'm struggling to let go

over the remaining items that aren't selling.

I have a question about balancing minimalism and holiday decor.

I love to shop for the holidays and find fun things to make the home beautiful.

How would you best advise me to strike a balance of enjoying the season and the holiday decor, but also not going overboard?

I think this is such a great question.

The holidays are going to be here before we know it, right?

So I think two things.

We have to put some kind of container or limit around it because I love this too.

Over the last few years, every Christmas, I think I've gotten a few new pieces.

And it's been really fun. And it's made decorating really enjoyable for me. But I think we have to contain it. So two

ways to do that. One is with your budget. So I think if this is something you really enjoy and you

look forward to, then let's just set a budget each holiday season that we're allowing ourselves to spend on it.

So that might cause us to even be a little more intentional.

Do I want to invest in one new, more expensive piece or do I want to get a few less expensive pieces?
