Welcome to the Real Estate Strategies podcast. Let's get right into this episode. I've met over 20 billionaires

0:06.0

and here are the top five lessons that I've learned. So the first one is that everyone starts at 30,000

0:11.0

feet. In other words, they're always looking at the macro. They're looking at what are the needs and what

0:17.1

can I solve and what is the best way and the highest way to actually make a lot of money

0:21.9

by solving somebody's problem.

0:24.4

They're always staying at 30,000 feet and they hire other people to do all the work.

0:29.3

So I'll give you two examples.

0:30.7

I have two very good friends.

0:32.2

One started a company of personal ID security company called LifeLock.

0:37.0

And all he did was recognize that a lot of people at the time

0:40.3

were getting their social security number stolen

0:43.3

and their credit card numbers stolen.

0:45.3

So he created a whole industry around it,

0:47.3

even though he didn't start with that experience.

0:50.3

And another good friend started a corporate ethics company.

0:53.3

He designed

0:55.1

who could be the most ethical company in the world, which he did and he later sold to the New York

1:00.8

Stock Exchange. Both of these are personal friends of mine and started with just an idea and had

1:06.5

no experience in the space at all. Both of them started with something is very obvious today,

1:11.9

but at the time they had no experience and it wasn't obvious to everyone else. So I always use

1:16.8

this example with real estate. If you're driving by a piece of property and you've got a 20

1:21.5

acre piece on the right hand side, I look at it and I see multifamily. Another friend of mine might see an office building, yet another might see a retail center
