I've never understood exactly what the alternative is to that.

Because unless I get to the end of the day with a pretty charged phone, like I manage it pretty well,

I can't risk my phone dying while I'm asleep because I use it for my alarm clock.

Sure.

So I have to plug it in.

Unless I'm going to set an alarm to get up in the middle of the night to unplug my phone to keep the battery life up, which I'm never going to do.

I don't see how I avoid leaving my phone plugged in all night long.
