I've been a pastor about 30 years and I started with a Bible study back in the Grunge era and it was a bunch of punk rock kids and college students and a bunch of homeless runaway kids.

So I thought, you know, they they need Jesus I'm a brand new pastor

brand new Christian so I want to start a Bible study for them so I went and rented a

room at a Baptist church and a group of older grandmothers gave me approval to rent their room.

So I started a Bible study and some church kids showed up to the Baptist church

and then I started inviting punk rock kids and these runaway homeless kids and these

anarchist kids and here's literally what they said they're like they're smoking

cigarettes they're like hey where's the Bible story? It's like to the Baptist church

and they're like yeah we can't do that.

Can you smoke? I was like at the Bible study? They're like yeah. I was like there is no

Baptist church with a smoking section right like there is none there is none

there's no way I'm gonna get the Baptist grandma's to sign off on the smoking section

for the punk rock Bible study but I was like I gotta reach these kids for

Christ because they don't know it they're in the eternal smoking section like they

really need Jesus in a big way. So I told them I said well hey if I start a Bible

study with a smoking section will you come and they're like okay so I found a public park and I started a Bible study and I found a public park and I started a Bible study and I invited all the college

kids who grew up in the Christian homes and then all the punk rock homeless

anarchist kids we all got together a couple of the kids played guitar,

it wasn't really worship, they're just kind of jamming,

and then I got up and I was like, all right,
