And so it's really important that we understand that Peter here is very concerned.

And he's concerned because of what's taking place in this time in Rome where Christians are being pressured and they're suffering and they're going to great tortures.

And yet the church is being faithful to what God says.

I could just imagine, as Peter was sitting there writing and at the same time as he's writing, he understands that his time is short. He goes back

and he reflects at the time when he was up in Sassaria of Philippi and the Lord asked him who

the men say that I am And he tucked it over with the

disciples, and they said, well, some say you're John the Baptist, some say you're Elijah of the

prophet, some say you're one of the prophets. But then he turned to them and said, but who do you

say that I am? And Peter came up and said, you are the son of the living God. And Jesus was just

blown away because at that moment, Peter had a supernatural revelation. And Jesus told him that.

He said, Peter, flesh and blood has not revealed this to you. But my Heavenly Father has

given you a supernatural
