We're often hyper aware of the difference between the generations today.

Yeah, Gen Z awoke, baby boomers had it easy.

But what if we just turned that on its head and look at what unites us instead of what divides us?

We all come of age with the world view specific to our time and place. I get that. But there's also

so much richness to be found in connecting with each other and finding some common ground,

searching out the experiences and values we share despite the age difference, gender, race and

social class. Many of us, my most interesting and inspiring moments come when I'm sitting around a table with

people of all ages.

I love the wisdom and experience of older generations, the positivity and openness of younger

people.

And one of the things that fascinates me about Gen Z in particular is how much access they have to new ways of thinking.

And we know social media drives a lot of this and it also has its darker side,

but this is a place where people gather, discuss, debate and protest today.

Calling for change is no longer just about the street marches and banners.

Today it happens just as much, well perhaps more on Instagram, Twitter, on the slogans

we display on our t-shirts and, of course, those tote bags.

My guest today is part of this new generation using social media to talk about what matters to them and the change they believe we can create.

Florence Given has been called the voice of Gen Z. She's an artist, an illustrator, whose entrepreneurial spirit first revealed itself age 10 when she won a competition to some Beyonce tickets, and she promptly sold

them on eBay so she could buy her first laptop. She made her name on Instagram as an art student

with her illustrations that featured slogans ranging from, a bitch is a woman with boundaries,

to I am the love of my own life.

And they adore walls, clothing and bags.
