Welcome. This is a first. I am streaming the Sunday Night Bible study. I usually teach this in person at church and then I

upload it the following day on Mondays. This is our series in the Gospel of

Mark. We're just going to continue the verse by verse study. I don't intend to

do a different topic or something like that. I really like just plotting through the passage and picking up where I've left off the next time.

So this is the Mark series and may I by way of introduction say my name is is Mike not Mark and I just

want to clear the air on that because the truth is that in the comments section

ever since I started doing the Mark series. So the Gospel of Mark, people think my name is Mark, and I'm not offended by that, but I thought I should let you know. My name is not Mark. It's Mike. But this is the Mark series. This is part 32. We're in Mark chapter 9

versus 33 through 42. That's what we're covering today. This is going to talk

about unnecessary division, unnecessary division in the body of Christ,

competition and self-seeking amongst Christian leadership's,

leadership people, people who are in Christian leadership.

Or another way to put it, pastors are not supposed to be

the world and there are some real important differences there and

Jesus in this passage in Mark 9, he's like,

basically he's like beating into the disciples how he wants them to be so different

than what comes natural. Get this, then what comes natural when we start to step

into leadership. We get weird very quickly when we get authority and Jesus is trying to correct that and keep that from happening so we can have godly Christian leadership

Lots for us to learn in this passage. We're just going to read straight through the passage starting in Mark 9,

verse, and we'll read right down to verse 42,

just to put the whole passage loaded in our minds,

and then we'll go through it verse by verse, nice and slow.
