I've never quite been able to grasp the mindset of a young man or woman who chooses to serve the American people through military service.

I sometimes think of myself as adventurous, but I'm not that adventurous. I sometimes think of myself as adventurous,

but I'm not that adventurous. I sometimes think of myself as selfless, but I'm not that selfless.

I sometimes think of myself as brave, but I'm not that brave. But the people who choose a life

of sacrifice to protect our home aren't like me. And I guess that's the point. I don't want a bunch

of me's responsible for the safety of our nation. That's a recipe for disaster. No, better citizens

than I choose service. And thank God. This Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who have taken

up the honorable selfless task of protecting our borders of this country

and all who make their home within.
