Simone Biles shocked the world by dropping out of Olympic competition, citing mental health issues, and decreased personal confidence.

While many applauded her decision, others have labeled her weak or even ungrateful for the last-minute

withdrawal.

But it's important to remember that Biles is a victim of horrific sexual abuse at the hands

of the U.S. gymnastics program and Dr. Larry Nassar, even while she was winning championships

for us, and a mere two weeks before the games, Biles opened up publicly about her abuse for the first time ever.
