Today, William Shatner went to space.

The Star Trek captain and cultural icon flew into orbit with Jeff Bezos aboard Blue Origin.

It was a bizarre, giddy meeting of culture and exploration.

But more than that, it was a sort of salve to some of the angst that currently surrounds us.

50 years ago, this was little more than play acting for Mr. Shatner.

His imagination was the only thing that could take him to that final frontier,

and millions and millions of people have traveled with him on that imaginary journey over the years.

Watching Shatner live out a reality that was once only imagined reminds us

that there is still so much to explore.

At 90 years old, Shatner is now the oldest human to ever see space.

He is living proof that you're never too old for new adventures,

and the impossible can become possible if you wait long enough.

So here's to the captain and to Jeff Bezos,

two men who combine their wealth, creativity, and imagination to remind us that there are still wonders out there to be seen and experienced.
