Media went insane the other day when some accounts reported that a

Colorado Rockies fan was loudly screaming the N-word at a black player. Naturally, the social media set

climbed over one another to register their outrage. But my first thought about the shouting man wasn't

why. It was why weren't the people around him reacting at all? Of course, the answer is because

he was not shouting a slur. He was calling for the team mascot, Dinger. In this new era of

political religiosity, discovering racist has become a way to work off sin. Logic be damned.

Some of the politically pious were so desperate for such horrifying public

racism to be true. They didn't even pay attention to the hundreds of other people sitting in

direct proximity to the offender. We should all be concerned that some people are actually

cheering for racism. They want us black people to be hurt, so they can save us. I'm Kira Davis and
