On Monday, social media giant Facebook suffered a catastrophic outage.

As users have flocked to other platforms for communication with friends, family, and complete strangers,

now is a good time to ask yourself what your game plan is for a day that may or may not come

when you cannot easily communicate with people as you can today.

Make sure you have the relevant phone number stored in a hard copy.

Memorize important addresses, maybe even keep an Atlas in your car.

But most importantly, take a moment to observe who you are when you're not on social media.

Let's all take a moment to think about a time when we didn't have to see each

other's innermost thoughts instantly and constantly. Let's all take this moment to remind

ourselves that social media is not really social at all. Our healthiest interactions are the

ones we make in person. What would your life be like if you spend as much time making friends

or nurturing

friendships in real life as you do on Facebook? It shouldn't be the story of a decade that a beloved
