This week marks the 20th anniversary of 9-11.

It's hard to put in towards the terror, confusion, and chaos of that day, even so many

years later.

I was a young woman, newly pregnant, and planning for a future with my husband and our

growing family.

I remember feeling so fearful for the life I was carrying, not knowing what

would happen next or what the future of America looked like. There are so many stories from that day,

some tragic, some triumphant. What I will always remember from those first heartbreaking hours and

days is the palpable sense that America is home and our home had been violated.

On this somber anniversary, may we all be reminded that despite our family squabbles, America is our

home and thus our heart. As you go about your business this day and this week, look around you.

The people next to you are your neighbors.

They share this glorious home.

Let us treat each other as members of the same household in honor of those who are not allowed to live to see this day.
