After the mysterious events in the basement tunnels, I had a couple days off.

Then I had to switch over to the night shift, as we all did every two weeks.

The lack of sleep and changeover always plays havoc with mine.

Sir Katie and Rhythm and my brain always felt fuzzy and wrong for a few days, every time

I switched from days to nights, more back again.

On my days off, I'd be plagued by headaches that started as a dull ache behind my eyes,

until they turned and vannowing migraines had forced me into dark and rooms to sit alone

with my thoughts until I fell asleep.

There's three I am on my second night shift when the phone rang on the switchboard office.
