0:14.0	Hi, Dr. Laura. Thank you for taking my call. Thank you.
0:18.0	So I am a high school senior and I will be graduating on Friday.
0:22.0	And in the beginning of this year and about November, I started dating this girl in high school with me.
0:29.0	I was a senior. She was in her junior year and something you should know about me is that I'm a very giving person.
0:37.0	So in the beginning of the relationship, I was always putting myself second and always putting her first.
0:43.0	I was pushing.
0:44.0	Okay. You know, it's interesting that you said that something I should know about you.
0:49.0	Because I want to explain when somebody says that sentence to a therapist, we already have you pegged as low self-esteem.
0:59.0	Okay.
1:01.0	So it sounds nice. I'm a very giving person sounds almost Christ like.
1:09.0	It sounds so nice. It sounds so good.
1:12.0	But when people announce that's who they are, they're pretty much telling a professional.
1:16.0	I don't have any self-esteem. So what I do is I put everybody else first.
1:20.0	Or at least this girl first because then she'll like me and won't leave me.
1:26.0	And I'll be safe and connected.
1:29.0	It's generally not a healthy thing to sacrifice yourself like that, especially at your age.
1:35.0	Yeah, and I could really understand that now.
1:38.0	And I wish I would have put myself more first and spoken up a little bit when something was bothering me or whatnot, but I didn't do that.
1:47.0	And let me just jump out of this for one second.
1:50.0	Last year there was a girl I was like madly in love with and I did everything for her.
