starting with the news that Nicola Sturgeon is to quit as Scotland's first minister.

My decision comes from a police of duty and of love.

It's the end of an era for Sturgeon personally after eight years at the top,

but where does that leave the Scottish landscape she dominated for so long?

Meanwhile at Westminster, Keir Starmer confirmed that former leader Jeremy Corbyn

won't be allowed to stand as a Labour candidate at the next election,

and issued this challenge to critics on the left.

If you don't like the changes that we've made, I say the door is open and you can leave.

We ask what that means both for the left and for a conservative party that

built its majority on promising to get Brexit done and keep Jeremy Corbyn out.

so we're going to get right down to business and start with Nicola Sturgeon.

After an extraordinary run at the top, she has announced her retirement,

she'll stay on as an MSP until the next election, but the SNP will elect a new leader.

It's not a total shock. After eight grueling years, including leading Scotland through Covid,

she's hinted a few times that she'd had enough, but the timing is certainly unexpected,
